Firstly...South Korea is vastly more advanced than North Korea. Even if the US didn't have troops stationed there, NK wouldn't fare well.





But given that SK is an ally of the US and we have troops there...there's absolutely no chance of that. The US could step on NK without any issue.





NK alone is no threat. The problem is that they are on good terms with China. However, even this is a nonissue. China depends on trade with the US. If they sided with North Korea, trade ties would undoubtedly be broken and their economy (as well as ours) would be wrecked.
Kim Jong IL is in a position that he cannot pull back, the US with the South-Korea allie declared that they will inspect and destroy any equipment suspected military on board of North-Korea ships.





What do you think of this declaration, is it a provocation or not?...but of course by diplomacy means the UN approved the decision, who controls the UN, and has great deal on it.....Guess...





I am not a former president or have any sympathy to any tirany or imperialist government, but I think this country is not playing in Solo.....


Does the US let other party to inspect his ships in high see...why not talk about Israel with its terrifying nuclear arsenal..wake up man..





South-Korea with the new president who might ignites the fire..by approving with no equivocation the inspection of North-Korean ships..
No, I don't think so. He is a saber rattler and nothing more. North Kroea knows that the majority of the the world is against him building nukes, and he knows he can press the world and no actions will be taken against him unless he makes a blatantly offensive move such as invading South Korea or China...and he has to know that he will lose if he tries.
I don't think he will do anything. He will let one of us make the mistake and use it as an excuse to try and reunify Korea. In this case the outcome would depend on whose side China was on. With the Chinese there is no way the DPRK could take all of South Korea, even if the United States decided to stay out of it. Japan would certainly get involved and superior Japanese, Australian, South Korean airpower would eventually win over. Now the U.S. would more than likely step in and deter anything from getting too hot but who knows?





On the other hand, if China aided the DPRK, things would play out much differently. It's tough to say exactly what would happen; there are simply too many variables to account for. Rest assured, though, it would not be pretty.
He's crazy like a rabid fox! He will bluster and posture and shoot off a few more missiles and the US will give him some food and oil or some other necessity of life.





If he does go all bonkers and actually attacks someone he can do a lot of damage if he shoots off so many missiles that they can not be stopped. Since he is crazy (like a fox) he can take out the oil resources in Alaska and cripple the US economy pretty easy. Of course he will be destroyed but so will much of S. Korea and perhaps Japan as well!





He is a dangerous person to be in charge of nuclear weapons. He has demonstrated that human life matters little to him and he has one of the largest armies in the entire world. The bigger problem is with President Obama - will he take North Korea seriously? Will he ever allow the US to drill for more oil in different places on US soil so that all of the oil resources are not concentrated so much in Alaska? Probably not because Obama wants a weakened America so he can shove more social programs down the American throats! A million dead white people in Alaska will never bother him!
hopefully not, it would be a big mess.


there are too many tightly fitted countries over there. if he pulls something stupid. everyone expects Beijing to side with them but i have a feeling they will just turn their heads. We are going to see all of this playout in the next few days i have a feeling.

He doesn't have to. The original war never ended. It was a cease fire that has been broken time and time again since 1953. Please research your history on Korea before asking such a question.
