noWill my puppy become ill after its first injection?
my puppy was sick in the car on way home from vets after first and second jabs but then was fine.
Reactions to vaccinations can occur, but are rarely serious. You can talk to your vet when they administer vaccinations, and they can tell you what signs to look out for, and when you should call if you notice them.
sometimes after their shots puppies seem a little lethargic or down, sometimes they can even run a slight fever. all of this is normal. its just like when a human baby gets its shots its usually cranky for a day or so afterwards. its the same thing with puppies. it should however only last a day or two at the most. no need to give it anything for a fever or anything like that. the reaction is its body's natural reaction to the vaccine and is actually healthy. so yes it might become a little down or even sore in the injection site but its nothing to worry about. if it reacts with hives or swelling of the face this is an allergic reaction and it needs to go back to the vet immediately. an allergic reaction will occur in the first 30 minutes after the injection is given and can be taken care of rather easily with a shot of benedryl by your vet. good luck and congrats on the new puppy
No, but he might be a bit off colour for a day.
its highly unlikely unless the puppy happens to be allergic to the injection. i hope this is not the case and hope your puppy is okay after this little ordeal. :)
Some do and some don't......but will be okay, it is expected, sometimes the babies just don't handle it well for the first day or so, then bounce right back,,,you can also ask your vet, they will tell ya the same thing.....some pups it does not even seem like it bothers them and do great.......

but puppies are bouncy little dudes, it will be okay

Breeder 15 yrs...

usually there is no problem but you can always ask your vet...before you go just make a list of all the questions you want to ask...it is easy to forget once your in there...
