Will yellow skinned fish make me ill?

I had a pub lunch of fish in batter (not sure what fish it was). The fish itself was white and did not smell funny, however the skin on the fish was yellow and stretchy. I ate it after being told by family it was OK to eat and don't feel funny 3 hours later but do you think I'll be ok?
