If you microwave fast food will it eliminate any chance of food poisoning from ill-prepared orders?

I had food poisoning once from a fast food restaurant. Since then, I've always been a little gun shy when eating out.

I was wondering if microwaving my food when I get home would lower the risk.If you microwave fast food will it eliminate any chance of food poisoning from ill-prepared orders?
Microwaving will not eliminate the chances of getting ';food poisoning'; from contaminated food. In the case of ';food infection'; where the illness is caused by active bacteria, such as Salmonella, the microwaving will likely kill them. However, in the case of ';food intoxication';, which is most commonly associated with getting ill from contaminated food within a few hours, the problem is not caused by the living bacterium but is caused by the secretion of a heat stable toxin. Microwaving might reduce the amount of toxin but will not eliminate it. Better to get your food from places with a record of satisfactory evaluations from the local department of public health and sanitation inspection. If you microwave fast food will it eliminate any chance of food poisoning from ill-prepared orders?
Only on certain bacteria but not others so be very careful and be certain on this, if it smell's bad or taste's bad don't eat it no matter how long you or anyone else has cooked it!
No. The reason is, that it is not the organism (bacteria or mold) itself, which is the problem. The problem is, that the waste products of the organism digesting its food is a poison to your body. Consequently, although you may kill the organism, the poisons are left behind ... although warmer, if you prefer them that way. ;-)
i would say.. it wont eliminate totally the chances of getting poisoned but it may lower if not much, a bit, as some chemicals are known to be vulnerable to radiation.( esp. those proteinacious)
Microwaves themselves do not destroy bacteria that is why it is not used in the sterilization process. The heat from microwaving will, so if the food had say e-coli then heating the food to at least 160 degrees in the center of the food would kill the bacteria. If there is something else in the food then microwaving will do nothing. And in fast food you have no idea what the hell you are putting in your mouth, remember that is food made by people who don't give a crap.
I had food poisoning once from cheesecake. It turned me off completely. If the toxin is there, it is there.
No, it is the toxins that get you, rather than the bacteria.
It would not. Some bacteria can withstand extremely high temperatures, and viruses lay dormant until they find a host.
Not unless youy get it hot enough for long enough - the chances are you would not and make any contamination worse - reheat to at least 165 degrees F which will dry out and probably spoil the food but it will be safe. Eat at places with a good record and clean looking kitchens - but not always a certainty.
NO BUT IT WONT HURT
Microwaves do not cook food uniformly, therefore you may still have areas which are just warm, but not hot enough to kill bacteria. It is not a good idea either to heat food excessively in the microwave either.
