Urdu Poet Iqbal has declared : ';Religion does not teach people to bear ill-will towards others.';?

How, then, wars had been fought in the past in the name religion?Urdu Poet Iqbal has declared : ';Religion does not teach people to bear ill-will towards others.';?
Religion is a tool that can be used foster unity but also to foster hatred and violence towards out groups. It all depends on how it is used by humans. The holy texts of the big three monotheistic religions all have passages that extol us to love each other but also passages that seem to condone and promote persecution and violence towards out groups. So aspects of the religions can be used for peace or war and have been traditionally used both ways as suited people.

A study by the University of Michigan found people could much more easily be incited to commit violent acts if prodded by belief their religious texts condone it.Urdu Poet Iqbal has declared : ';Religion does not teach people to bear ill-will towards others.';?
I have no clue how he could think that. Are you sure the quote is accurate?
