My 2 year old son loves his bubble baths. But he also loves to drink the bath water. Will drinking the soapy water make him ill? What would the symptoms be?Will drinking soapy water make you ill?
nope, he'll be ok. My boys use to do it all the time. The worst thing he could get is a soapy taste in his mouth. He'd have to drink a WHOLE lot of bubbles to even get a small stomach ache. Almost all bubble bath soaps are non toxic just for this reason: little kids drink and splah the soapy water. He'll be just fine.
Best wishes and good luck! =]Will drinking soapy water make you ill?
Diareaha....that's not god for him you should try to keep him from doing that
try giving him a soapless bath.....unless he is really dirty
also give him a sponge bath till he stops drinking the water...or have a sippy cup for him to drink out of when taking a bath.....you know power of suggestion. If you are surrounded by water you get thirsty.
Most bubble baths are non toxic and he would probably have to drink alot of the water to get much of the actual chemical solution in his body. My daughter also drinks some of her bath water and I have never seen any ill effects.
nope my baby brotha usde to do it all the time and he is fine it just use 2 bug my mother
i have two boys who love to drink the bath water, and I must admit, I remember doing it when I was a kid. I even ate handfuls of bubbles. I have never seen or heard of a child getting sick from drinking bathwater, and nearly all of them do it. Most of us did it too, its nothing to worry about.
dont worry, toddlers luv 2 drink the water, there are no illnesses, but i would try 2 stop that behavior 'cuz they might be allergic
That's really bad for him. It can cause diarrhea and vomiting and depending on how much and what kind can possibly be fatal. Not just the bubble bath is bad for him but other things that are in the water are too, like germs and maybe even urine.
Well, don't let him do it. In addition to soapy water (not good for you, by the way) if he's drinking his bath water, he's also drinking the dirt you've washed off of him, and most likely a little extra something he's added to the bath water. In fact, I think it's fair to say that of all the things your son is ingesting with the bath water, the soap is the least of your problems.
Drinking a little soapy water (only soapy water) won't hurt him, but if he ends up getting a lot (about a cup or more of the actual soap, not soapy water), he can have standard poisoning symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and he could be lethargic.
But seriously, the soap is the least of his problems, and drinking the dirt, germs, and most likely bodily waste that is usually in bathwater is REALLY not a good thing.
Watch him carefully, and stop him before he drinks anymore bath water.
