Since Gates made the issue about Race to instigate ill-will....?

......doesn't that make him the racist ? He shouldn't have run after the officers that were trying to leave - thinking he could make a statement about the poor black man vs the mean ole' cop, without consequences. Since Gates made it about race, doesn't that make Gates the racist (not to mention an embarrassment to the black community)?Since Gates made the issue about Race to instigate ill-will....?
Champion the racism conflict, and it brings fame and lots of money. Many are not aware of the bias in the health care bill. Minority students are to get preference when it comes to getting into medical schools and federal aid for tuition. Affirmative action is alive and well. The fact that we have elected a black president should have put an end to it, but they dont want to leave the gold mine. The main stream media does not want to inform people of Gates actions. Any white man acting the same way would have been treated the same way by the police. You can educate someone, give them a prestigious position, and still they act like a street thug.Since Gates made the issue about Race to instigate ill-will....?
All I have to say is I can't believe the police report, complete with the witnesses name and street, is all over the internet. That is supposed to be a confidential report. Not for release to the public. Now everyone on earth knows that woman's name, street and city. That's messed up! The police have victimized that woman by releasing that report with her name on it.
gates is racist that all there is to it he needed his name in the news. obama is the president of the U.S. he should never got in the middle of this
Yes. Henry Gates whole life has been centered around affirmative action and smearing whitey just like Reverend Wright, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson.
Yep.
The cops bust into his house for no reason and then try to leave. I'll yell at them as much as I want. And they try to lock me up? what is that? what is that?!
';(not to mention an embarrassment to the black community)?';

This is about Gates. He is one man.
The man had just flown in from China. That's several time zones. He was totally lagged. You would have done the same thing.

Who's the racist now? Get over it.
Nope because there is no such thing as reverse Racism.

Least that what I keep being told. Although I keep seeing it happen.
gates has issues believe me he thinks anytime a white cop is around a black man its because of his skin color didn't notice him saying any thing to the black cops wonder why?
blacks are twice as likely to be searched by police but whites have most of the contraban.
no
I believe Prof. Gates over-reacted but how is believing you're a victim of racism, racist?

This may sound sarcastic but I'm so serious. It must be nice to have no idea what racism is.

*UPDATE*

Louis I have nothing but respect for your opinion and I can't control what you or those that think like you call racism but to me:

Racism is thinking a man is less than human

Racism is enslavement

Racism is not allowing equal access to a public place because of skin color

Racism is lynching

Racism is the murder of Emmitt Till

Racism is being forced to not make eye contact for fear of retribution

Racism is the death by bombing of 4 young girls in and Alabama church

Racism is the assassination of MLK

Racism is housing discrimination

Racism is job discrimination

Racism is having a cross burning on your property

Racism is police profiling

Racism is the Rodney King beating

Racism is the Sean Bell killing

etc...etc

and to not keep this completely African-Amer. related

Racism is having a swastika painted anywhere

Racism is not (remember I said to me) ACCUSING someone of being racist to you.

It just can't be..

That diminishes the complete terror and ugliness of what racism really is

If you suspect that a person who is mentally ill will soon attempt to buy a gun, what can you do?

I know a man in Texas, who so far has not proved that he is a danger to himself or others, but his mental state has been declining for the last several years. Now he is getting very angry and extreme in his political rants and it seems that he is planning to stock up on guns and ammunition. Is there some agency I should contact? Is there some way to perhaps force him to be psychologically evaluated before he is allowed to purchase firearms?

Because he believes that psychologists are evil, he avoids them. So there is no psychological diagnosis in his medical records already. If you suspect that a person who is mentally ill will soon attempt to buy a gun, what can you do?
You're treading on thin ice. He could sue you for slander or for violating his privacy. If he has been evaluated and they did not determine him to be a danger, then he still has the same rights you do, and you have no business second-guessing a trained psychiatrist.

On the other hand, if you feel he's a danger you should start taking notes to support your view. That way you have something concrete to back up your claim if he crosses the line (as in, threatens somebody or makes suicidal statements). If you suspect that a person who is mentally ill will soon attempt to buy a gun, what can you do?
I hope all goes well. Definitely limit your exposure to this guy.

I would call the non-emergency number for the police and at least give them a heads up about the guy. They may be able to warn the local gun dealers about the guy. It's a shame, but in situations like this, hardly anything gets done until something tragic happens and then you get all the blaming and hand-wringing. The police need to keep an eye on him. If he's truly dangerous the courts can have him involuntarily committed to a mental health facility.
Owning a firearm does not prove imminent danger to self or others. He can only be encouraged to seek mental health services unless or until he commits an act that requires intervention. Making threats to harm others counts. But if he makes no threats and commits no overt acts, not much can be done.
Unless he is already in one of the prohibited classes of people per the Gun Control Act 1968 there is nothing you can do other than express your ';concerns'; to the local Police or Sheriff.
run away=D

im kidding well i would talk to him and try to change his mind about the life that he is in or tell police=D you know what if i was in your situation i never would get involve and policemen know how to stop him=S
buy one first

%26gt;=)
Thanks to conservatives, every nutjob who wants to can have a gun. Hell, you get more closely examined if you want to fly or get a driver's license. And of course, if he does snap and start shooting, he'll be put in prison instead of receiving mental health care because conservatives say we can't coddle criminals, even if they are mentally ill, just arm them.
steal the gun

Under Obama's health care plan how will the elderly and chronically ill be affected?

Barack Obama will make health insurance affordable and accessible to all:

The Obama-Biden plan provides affordable, accessible health care for all Americans, builds on the existing health care system, and uses existing providers, doctors and plans to implement the plan.

Obama will lower health care costs:

The Obama plan will lower health care costs by $2,500 for a typical family by investing in health information technology, prevention and care coordination.

Promote public health:

Obama and Biden will require coverage of preventive services, including cancer screenings, and will increase state and local preparedness for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.Under Obama's health care plan how will the elderly and chronically ill be affected?
Not at all, unless he can actually get something passed. And I'd guess that IF he can get something passed, it's going to look drastically different than what he was campaigning with.

Keep in mind, in the UK and Canada, there are strict drug for颅mularies, limited treatment options, and discrimination by age in the provision of care. That means premature babies aren't given lifesaving treatments, and neither are the elderly.Under Obama's health care plan how will the elderly and chronically ill be affected?
He wants health for everyone....Didn't you ever listen to his speaches?! They will be affected by having better medical! Oh no, that might be a shame to the republicans. All McCain wanted to do is give $5000 to each state. Well we all know where that would go (to the wealthy). So, why is everyone talking bad about Obama...He wants America to have there critizens healthy!
We won't know for sure until he offers up specifics, and those will change based on lobbying, the whims of Congress, and how much it will cost.

Here are two links that discuss his plan (as well as McCain's):

don't you think those ?'s should have had answers for them before you voted for him. Like everything else he wants to CHANGE we have no idea how it is actually going to effect anything or CHANGE anything.
There is no plan. He's not President yet and will likely not have any money to make any major changes there.

Is there an assosiation that will help my disabled mother and mentally ill father move house?

My mother and father are having trouble with selling their house and relocating. I would love to help them any way I can but as most know, moving house is alot of work and stress.

My mother has a very bad back and my father has a mntal condition. I want them to sell their house asap and move near where I live. Has anybody got any ideas if there's an assosiation that maybe able to help us?Is there an assosiation that will help my disabled mother and mentally ill father move house?
Try talking to them and letting them know that it is important to be near you, and that you want to help them.

Parents have a way sometimes of really getting us confused and stressed out because we care about them so much.

I wish I could think of a number to call for help for you, I am sure there are plenty of places that could and would advise you.

I hope I helped out alil bit anyway.

have you tried social services? Or maybe talked to a Dr. about this? Maybe that would help some

If I locate some answer I will surely get back to you.

You take care now,

  • What are your predictions for UFC 84: ILL WILL?

    1. Sean Sherk vs BJ Penn

    2. Ryoto Machida vs Tito Ortiz

    3. Keith Jardine vs Wanderlei Silva

    4. Goran Reljic vs Wilson Gouveia

    5. Ivan Salaverry vs Rousimar Palhares

    6. Dong-Hyun Kim vs Jason Tan

    7. Rameau Sokoudjou vs Kazuhiro Nakamura

    8. Christian Wellisch vs Shane Carwin

    9. Antonio Mendes vs Thiago Silva

    10. John Koppenhaver vs Yoshiyuki Yoshida

    11. Terry Etim vs Rich ClementiWhat are your predictions for UFC 84: ILL WILL?
    1. Sean Sherk via TKO referree stoppage due to strikes (fight of the night)

    2. Lyoto Machida via submission armbar (submission of the night)

    3. Keith Jardine via unanimous decision

    4. Wilson Gouvei via submission triangle choke

    5. Ivan Salaverry via knockout

    6. Dong-Hyun Kim via knockout (knockout of the night)

    7. Kazuhiro Nakamura via submission armbar

    8. Shane Carwin via split decision

    9. Thiago Silva via submission triangle choke

    10. War Machine via TKO referree stoppage due to strikes

    11. Rich Clementi via submission rear naked choke

Can't wait to see the former PRIDE fighters continue to be discredited especially the hugely overrated Ax Murderor. Jardine will dominate this retard. He'll keep him at a distance with leg kicks and deliver his own punishment from a safe distance. The only thing the retard (silva) has going for him is the apparent steel plating he had surgically planted over his skull....he can't be knocked out. What are your predictions for UFC 84: ILL WILL?
    1) Penn - I think Sherk is an awsome fighter, but Penn is a bit bigger and now that he is in shape, I see him winning either by TKO or submission in round 2.

    2) Ortiz - I like Machida, but I just see him having no answer for Ortiz's strength which is holding people down against the fence and pounding on them.

    3) Silva - I think Wanderlei will dismantle Jardine with knees via Anderson Silva style.

    4) Gouveia - I don't know who the other guy is.

    5) Salaverry - don't know the other guy and I think it's time Salaverry get a win of late.

    6) Dong-Hyun Kim - I don't know either of these guys, but I'll give the win to Kim just because he has the world ';Dong'; in his name.

    7) Sokoudjou - I think this will be fight of the night and I see Nakamura taking a lot of punishment despite continuing to battle.

    8) Carwin

    9) Silva - Thiago is very underrated.

    10) Yoshida - I don't think Koppenhaver is that great of a fighter.

    11) Clementi - a very skilled veteran who is on a tear right now. I see him winning by submission.
can't comment on all of them

but Wanderlei Silva gets my vote there

    and i agree with average_joe937

Silva fought Rampage and knocked him out cold

    yes he lost to Liddell

    losses happen in fighting

Ortiz gets run over by Machida

we haven't seen Ortiz fight in a while so hes had time to train, but i think his time in the UFC is up not only contractwise but overall

hes one of those guys who fought back in the day and is comming up on retiring age

BJ Penn without question is gunna destroy Sherk

yes Sherk has much better cardio

    but there gunna stand

    trade some blows

Sherk is gunna take BJ down and BJ is gunna use his Ju Jitsu skills and dominate the fight

granted one little slip up by anyone i picked and the fight goes in favor of the other guy
    1. Penn: Way more skills and is training like a madman.

    2. Lyoto Machida: On a roll right now, and frankly Tito doesn't match up well with him.

    3. Silva via ref stoppage. Look for the Jardine nutriding train to end here and the Wanderlei train to start picking up steam again.

    4. Gouviea

    5. SALAVERRY BABY! Good to see him back in the UFC.

    6. Kim

    7. Sokoudjou, Kaz has a chin but shouldn't be fighting at 205.

    8. Carwin

    9. Silva

    10. Warmachine

    11. Hopefully Etim, I hate Clementi.
    1.Penn

    2.Machida

    3.Jardine

    10. Yoshida

The rest of them I don't know.
BJ by submission, theres no stoppin him.

    machida because tito's a turd

    jardine for no good reason

gouveia always pulls a knockout out of nowhere

    ivan because im nostalgic
    11. Rich Clementi. Clementi is a crafty vet who will pull this fight off. Clementi is a better all around athlete. His only disadvantage is that he just fought at UFC 83. So he has little over a month to prepare. Submission in the 2nd round

    10. Yoshiyuki Yoshida. Yoshida is going to make a great wave in the UFC with his great ground and pound game which is unique for a Japanese fighter (normal Japanese fighters prefer submission fighting). TKO in the 1st round

    9. Thiago Silva. This win could put him in contention for the Light Heavyweight Title (he's that good). Put Silva is great in the clinch and has deadly kicks and knees. KO in the 3rd round.

    8. Christian Wellisch. Carwin is a great striker, but he is not very technical. I think Wellisch takes him to the ground and controls Carwin throughout the fight. Unanimous Decision.

    7. Kazuhiro Nakamura. Why this fight is not on the main card is beyond me. These are two great fighters who are going to have a battle. These two will battle on their feet and on the ground in probably the fight of the night. Split Decision.

    6. Jason Tan. This is a little bit of an upset because Kim has big knockout power. But Tan has great Brazilian Jui Jitsu and I think he will be able to control Kim on the ground. Submission in the 3rd round.

    5. Rousimar Palhares. Salaverry is not the fighter that he used to be. He's getting up there in age and I think the youth and conditioning of Palhares is going to get the better of Slalverry. Submission in the 2nd round.

    4. Wilson Gouveia. He's picked up 4 pretty good solid wins in a row has momentum on his side. I see Gouveia coming out quick and ending it quick. KO 1st round.

    3. Wanderlei Silva. I love how the UFC fans who know nothing about PRIDE think Silva is over-rated because he had so much hype and then lost to Liddell. Silva DOMINATED Rampage Jackson in PRIDE... TWICE! TKO 2nd round.

    2. Lyoto Machida. IDK how much of an upset this would be considered but Machida is MUCH better than what the casual fan thinks. I think Machida will struggle with Tito's conditioning and ground skills but will eventually get the better him. Ortiz gets KOed in the 2nd round of his last UFC fight.

    1. Sean Sherk. It wasn't that long ago that he was considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Then he tested posative for steroids and now he is a nobody. With a chip on his sholder and something to prove, I think Sherk comes out firing and dominates Penn. Sherk by unanimous decision.

4 DPO and really ill with a virus! Will this shatter my BFP hope this month?

so ill and feeling rather sorry with myself. Vomiting all night and no energy!

Will this hinder my chances this month?4 DPO and really ill with a virus! Will this shatter my BFP hope this month?
No issues. Implantation doesnt occur til 6-12 DPO, (7-10 being the norm), so right now if you are pregnant, baby isnt even attached, so no fear of it causing issues. The only real issue with being sick is if there's a temp over 101 F after implantation, that can have a negative effect on pregnancy.

In terms of vomitting and no energy, well that the same symptoms most women suffer throughout their first trimester, and it has no effect on the baby in that case, so it won't with you!

Good luck, and feel better.4 DPO and really ill with a virus! Will this shatter my BFP hope this month?
I hope not hun but I'm in the same boat I've had this horrible virus on and off for a while so that may be hindering my chances at a BFP also. But you never know, sometimes it will just happen regardless so don't give up hope yet. Fingers crossed hun and lots of baby dust your way. xxxxxxxx
I would try not to worry about it but your body does need a perfect environment for a baby to be made and if you are ill, that is not a great environment. But, it still could happen. Just do your best to get better and be patient.
its never a good time to be ill, but sometimes the stress of the illness may cause your body 'not to be ready' this month. Remember egg/sperm need completely healthy environment to survive. Hope you feel better soon. x
No not at all. The only thing it may have done was delayed ovulation but you are past ovulation so it should be okay.

Swine Flu threw my ovulation 8 days past normal!

Max my Border Collie Puppy is ill, will he be Alright?

    Max is 21 weeks old.

Yesterday he did not appear to be well. We took him to a vet as I was concerned, and an out of hours regional vet looked at him ans said he thought it was just a virus gave him and anti biotic and steriod injections and tablets (again anti biotics) and a bill for 拢157 telling me if he gets worse go back but see our normal vet on Monday.

Got up this morning and he but appeared to be getting worse high temperature, trying to be sick but not able to even if I rubbed his back, very down not happy to go for a walk or even in the garden.

He drank very little but ate a little boiled rice and chicken at breakfast nothing else and he is miserable.

Took him to our normal vet and they have kept my baby in.

I came home crying because I should have taken him to the vet first thing rather than dithering about.

He may have some kind of obstruction and I am so scared I am going to loose him.

Whats wrong with him even the vet does not know.

Hes insured.Max my Border Collie Puppy is ill, will he be Alright?
Your vet is a professional trust him/her they are fully qualified to help dogs in need. Border collies tend to bounce back from sickness etc. There may be cause to be worried later on but now your dogs in the best hands.Max my Border Collie Puppy is ill, will he be Alright?
Hang in there, he will be fine.
Let the vet watch him and run their tests. Soon they will have an answer or an idea and can begin treatment. He is best at the vet and in great hands. Just try to stay calm so when you are able to see him again you don't upset him by being stressed. Make a collage of all the pictures you have of him to help time pass by. Let us know how it turns out.
If the vet who looks at the dog doesn't know what is wrong, you can't expect strangers who haven't been to vet school to help.
U just have to trust your vet at this point. Keep in touch with the vet so u r up to date with everything that's going on and write everything down cause u r upset and may forget things that were done or said. Hope your baby gets well and comes home real soon. Thank God you took him to your vet when u did!

Treatment for chlamydia is making me ill, will i still get pregnant!!!!?

Hi there ive been trying to concieve now for 3 years, my partner and i have been together for 4 years, i have had 2 miscarriages, because of my problems trying to get pregnant my doctor advised me to get a full health check at a sexual health clinic just to rule it out, to my shock my partner and i tested positive for chlamydia, no wonder i was having problems! Because i am a pregnancy risk i have been given erythromycin and im taking a high dose of it,2 tablets 4 times a day for 7 days, its making me ill, i know it does make you ill but is there any thing i can do to help the sickness and make it alot more bearable? Also ive had chlamydia for a long time without knowing, has anybody else had it for a long time and still concieved?Treatment for chlamydia is making me ill, will i still get pregnant!!!!?
You are doing the right thing in tolerating the nausea from the stomach irritation the erytromycin causes.

    Yes, chlamydia can cause infertility:

    Chlamydia can cause infertility

In women, untreated infection can spread into the fallopian tubes and cause the tubes to become blocked at the very ends. Thi is known as hydrosalpinx. They can also develop scar tissue around the fallopian tubes that makes it more difficult for the tube to ';pick up'; the egg at the time of ovulation. The problems can lead to infertility and an increased risk for ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.

Distal tubal obstruction can be detected by performing a hysterosalpingogram. Pelvic adhesions, however, can only be detected by undergoing a surgical procedure to look inside of the abdominal cavity. This is usuaully done using a technique called laparoscopy where a fiber optic telescope is inserted through the belly button under general anesthesia. Since laparoscopy is a much more invasive procedure, it is desirable to avoid it whenever possible.

How would you set up a test for the efficacy of prayer, or its opposite, ill will?

Is this something that can be empirically proven?

Has anyone done any testing? Would the testing for the results of positive thoughts be different for than for the results of negative thoughts? How would you set up a test for the efficacy of prayer, or its opposite, ill will?
All interesting stuff, but I think it does come down to positive %26amp; negative energy. 'Testing' the Deity (whatever one's perceptions of him/her/it/them may be) seems like it would be a bit unpredictable - it all comes down to a matter of faith, which is difficult to quantify. The work on water %26amp; ice crystals by Dr Masaru Emoto makes a very good case for the influence of positive %26amp; negative energies, however; well worth reading. Anyone who has seen the movie ';What The Bleep Do We Know!?'; will remember the references to his work. How would you set up a test for the efficacy of prayer, or its opposite, ill will?
The problem with the dice method seems to me to be that it doesn't give the diety much time to answer the prayers and it doesn't give the praying folk much time to do any serious praying.

    ......................................鈥?br>

Here's a test offering some safeguards with a broad statistical potential:

    The petri dish:

Every day most states sponsor a form of gambling that used to be called 'the numbers racket' when it was done by private enterprise. One of the games is called Pick 3. Some states do them twice a day, some only once.

The odds are one in 56 of any two of three numbers picked hitting in order.

The draws are held under high-security, tightly controlled conditions, the results for all the nationwide draws are immediately available to anyone.

    ......................................鈥?br>

    The test:

Group one prays until the draw that no two of numbers, say, 1-2-3 hit anywhere in the US in that order.

Group two prays until the draw that two of the numbers 4-5-6 hit as many places as possible in that sequence.

Control numbers are 7-8-9 with nobody praying for them.

With so many draws held each day it would provide a fairly sound statistical base for the test and a wide variety of comparisons.

It might also offer hints, if any anomalies such as the proximity of the praying folk to the locations of the draws, of other paranormal influences.

    ......................................鈥?br>

Edit: TR - I'd be tickled pea-green to participate in a solitary test on terminally ill patients of almost any infectuous condition for distance energy healing if someone knew how to set up such a test and wanted to do it.

Terminally patients only whom the medicos have sent home to die. The odds aren't 50/50 on that by a long shot. And I'd be willing to repeat the test as many times as anyone wanted to do it on as many patients until everyone got tired of it.

I specify infectuous conditions because, unless there's been too much tissue damage it wouldn't take too long in each instance to run the test. If the liver's almost all scar tissue naturally it would take longer to run the test.

Edit 2: As for the negative side testing I'd be unwilling to have anything to do with it.
The answer is.Studies have been done. Here's two articles about Columbia University studies.
Are you talking about prayer..like when you ask God for help etc.? Are you talking about ';testing'; God??? Shudder Shudder!! Especially the way you're talking about doing it. I had tons of prayers answered..during a 10 year period. Not ALL my prayers..and sometimes not the more important ones. I guess I did my share of ';testing'; too...but it still doesn't seem right. Maybe prayers should be saved for when you really need them..lest God is thinking you're ';crying wolf';..or just ';testing'; him again.

You're probably not even talking about God..but I've said this just in case. If it's not God you're praying to...then I don't call it prayer. You can ask saints and spirits to ';intercede'; for you..but I don't know if that's prayer.

I 've got a feeling I'm way off track from what you are talking about.

PS..I don't get that many prayers answered anymore.

Edit..Maybe you're just talking about positive and negative ';energy';.

    Definitions of prayer:http://www.answers.com/topic/prayer?cat=鈥?/a>
I have actually thought about this recently and came to this conclusion.

First, its not entirely testable, because one could say, the person praying didnt have enough faith, or that God has other plans....etc.

The implication behind the praying is that God will step in and influence events in the favor of the person praying. If God influences events, then we can assume the laws of physics as we know them are bent, and that prayer would be able to create statistical anomolies.

Here is the test I came up with, and am going to try to get a minister to help me with next week.

We take a 6 sided die and roll it 100 times, marking the results on a scratch pad. Now each number should hit around 16. Between 12 and 20 hits on each side would be within the range of randomness.

Next we pray for the die to hit 6s, and hopefully God will answer said prayers. My goal would be to get more than 22 hits for 6 out of 100. Of course one time could just by an outlyer, however, If I could do that, the experiement would be worth repeating.

Of course, this could only prove the power of prayer, and not disprove it, by asking God to bend the laws of physics.

There are always ways to justify why a prayer wasnt answered. I guess only God could tell you for sure.

Edit: TR, I actually have seen the studies on medical patients you are talking about. Although I have to point out that the same technique was used in the 80s in a cuban hospital to prove that Shark Cartilage was a cure for cancer, which as it turned out, shark carilage had no medical properties at all.
That's a great question. This has actually been done. The basic idea is that you want a control group and a study group. The control group receives no prayers for or against, while the study group does. At the end of the experiment, the results are compared and minimally a t-test to determine if there really is a difference between the two populations is done.

Wushu above brought up some good points. The results wouldn't be ';proof'; of efficacy of prayer, and with any experiment you can always come up with ad hoc reasons why you didn't get the results you might have expected. In addition, there is some ambiguity in putting a hard number on patient improvement so there is some uncertainty in the results because of that. Also, ideally you want very similar control and study groups, each of which on average have equal likelihood of improving or not improving, and that's awful hard to put a number on as well.

That's just a real simple review. I added a couple links with more info.
There have been many studies on this. Larry Dossey, M.D. has pioneered and advocates some of this work.

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine ( part of the National Institutes of Health) also supports and conducts research in this area.

Outside of perhaps something like slowing down the healing process of flesh wounds on mice, ethical considerations in the medical and scientific community would make testing of negative prayer next to impossible to both get funding for or get accepted for publication.

  • What are your thoughts on Ill Will?

Just 2 season into his NBA career. Really, 1 because under Isiah Thomas in his rookie year Wilson Chandler did not see time on the court until the final weeks of the season when injuries hit.

    2007-2008: 7.3 PPG, 19.6 MPG, 16 GS, 3.6 RPG, .630 FT%

    2008-2009: 14.4 PPG, 33.4 MPG, 70 GS, 5.4 RPG, .795 FT%

Not to mention he has a world of athleticism and displayed it against the Boston Celtics in a NY victory where he scored 31 against Boston. Keep in mind he only 22 too. What player(s) past or present would you say Ill Will reminds you of?What are your thoughts on Ill Will?
Hahaha you asked in the wrong place, this section hates him. I said he would be in the Top 10 in scoring this season and got 8 thumbs down, lol.

    My projection:

    21.9 Pts 6.6 Rbs 4.5 Ast

He is getting so much better, idk how people can't see this guy as one of the best young players.

He reminds me of Jalen Rose with a better attitude, thats a damn good thing, I think Rose was a great and very underrated player.

EDIT: My stat projection would be Rose numbers, haha. Im usually right too, just ask So-Called Yahoo Expert Brad Evans. What are your thoughts on Ill Will?
Well, you're right, the guy definitively have potential, and I think that Wilson Chandler can be some kind of a new Shawn Marion... specially under Mike D'antoni.

    Cool.

By any chance will the abortion ill be free at planned parent hood if i dont have money?

Some Planned Parenthoods have what they call ';justice'; or ';equity'; funds. These foundations give vouchers to the clinic in the name of needy Women. However, you have to fill out the paperwork and most funds don't cover the whole cost. You will be out of pocket for some or most of the cost. I'm sorry about that.

There's also a national network of abortion funds. http://www.nnaf.org/

Check that out and see if they can help. If you are awarded funds from multiple foundations, it might be enough to cover most of the cost.

    Best of luck!

    Peace,

JennBy any chance will the abortion ill be free at planned parent hood if i dont have money?
Wow, first this ';Abortion Pill'; is Plan B, and secondly it is not a magical pill that murders unborn fetuses. Plan B is basically like regular birth control with higher levels of hormones that is taken up to 72 hours after possible conception. After the 72 hours it is ineffective and it doesn't work if you are already pregnant. What is does is provide your body enough hormones to not become pregnant like the regular pill. That being said normally Plan B costs about $36 and most free clinics can work with you on payment but it is rarely free. By any chance will the abortion ill be free at planned parent hood if i dont have money?
Hey... I dont know your situation or anything and it is your choice but really reconsider abortion. Two friends of mine had it and my 16 yr old cousin. The only good they say came out of it was it made them religious because they will spend the rest of their lives asking for forgiveness. They think they are going to hell. Its gonna hit you hard later so even if you cant keep it, give it up for adoption. Hospitals and firestations take babies no questions asked. Ive seen the break down afterward and they all say it wasnt worth living with the guilt.
STOP NOW AND RECONSIDER! Do NOT murder your child!!! Go to an adoption agency and they will take it from there. Give this sweet baby a chance and do what is RIGHT!!! This is the sign you are looking for, this is your answer, this is the point where you turn back and say, ';I MUST do what is right!'; You can do it, Honey! Save that baby!
You might want to check with your local department of human resources, sometimes they allow a temporary medical coupon for abortions. If not, some clinics go on a sliding scale fee, and if you have no income I'm sure they would work something out with you.
Not at all! U can research your area and may be able to find different places that are willing to assist you! I know here at the county hospital you can get one for 50 bucks! THE CHEAPEST I HEARD OF SO FAR!

However think about it! Abortion is not aways the answer!
I don't think that they'll do it for free. They will probably do it on payments or like a sliding fee. You can call and ask how they do it.
Why don't you just use the regular pill so you don't get pregnant , plus there is these things called condoms! The abortion pill is just that an early abortion that kills baby! Yuck!
No, but you could think about adoption - an open adoption the family would pay for all of your medical bills
I dont believe it would be given out free but its something you should discuss at a consultation
Should be, I think they do things on a sliding scale, if you don't make any money than there should be no charge for it.
it will not be free. it will be on a sliding scale, but not free.
wow...if u aint got the money dun lay n have sex if u cant handle the consequences sweetheart
Try adoption! NOT MURDER!! don't have sex if you cannot take responsibility for your actions.
No, but condoms would have been!

Should have made a trip there BEFORE getting pregnant.

If you had a terminally ill disease would you start infecting people you didn't like?

And if you have already done this do you feel any remorse for the people you have hurt and the families you have destroyed. If you had a terminally ill disease would you start infecting people you didn't like?
I will be too busy trying to right some of the wrongs I have done over the years. If you had a terminally ill disease would you start infecting people you didn't like?
lance, This is a terrible thing to do knowing you can infect someone else without saying somthing it is morally wrong, go to this person and expaian so they will at least be able to treat it medically, soon,do you have any guily feelings?, if not you need help yourself. Good Luck Rita V

My best friend is ill. Will he be okay?

He's got severe tonsillitis. Well he thinks he has. His glands are all swollen and he can't swallow/eat/drink/yawn. He coughed up a little blood earlier. Is this tonsillitis or is he going to have to get his tonsills out or something? He does smoke. Could it have been caused by this? I'm so worried about him. He's not even like a best friend to me, he's like, a brother but one that I love or something. I always get worried about people when they're ill. He's going to the doctors tomorrow. But I just know I'm going to be up all night worrying about him.My best friend is ill. Will he be okay?
Tonsillitis is caused by viruses or bacteria that cause the tonsils to swell and become inflamed. So Smoking might not have caused it.

Treatment of tonsillitis usually involves keeping the patient comfortable while the illness runs its course. This supportive care includes bed rest, drinking extra fluids, gargling with warm salt water, and taking pain relievers--usually NSAIDs--to reduce fever. Frozen juice bars and cold fruit drinks can bring some temporary relief of sore throat pain; drinking warm tea or broth can be soothing. If the throat culture shows that S. pyogenes is present, penicillin or other antibiotics will be prescribed. An injection of benzathine or procaine penicillin may be most effective in treating the infection, but it is also painful. If an oral antibiotic is prescribed, it must be taken for the full course of treatment, usually 10-14 days. If the patient has several episodes of severe tonsillitis, the doctor may recommend a tonsillectomy, which is the surgical removal of the tonsils. My best friend is ill. Will he be okay?
You need to get him to a doctor. It may be tonsillitis but it could be a number of other things as well, so the best thing to to would be to take him to the doctor or at least to call one and ask for medical advice.

If it is tonsillitis then have him gargle warm salt water, I know it sounds gross but he will feel much better, I have a few more remedies if it is indeed tonsillitis but you should go see a doctor to make sure.
It could be tonsillitis... Tell him not to smoke...It will only irritate his throat and it will make him sicker. I had my tonsils out when I was a kid...Not to worry you, but it is worse for older people. I am sorry to hear your friend is sick. I will be thinking about him. Take care and good luck!!

Do you think WoW fans Will switch to WAR andif so how ill Wow make a comeback?

hello i would just like to know if you think World of Warcraft players willl switch to Warhammer online, if so, please tell me how many you think will convert, and why. And if this haopens do you think wow will make a comebackDo you think WoW fans Will switch to WAR andif so how ill Wow make a comeback?
considering warhammer online is already out, and 11 million people are still playing WoW, im gonna guess WoW doesnt really need to worry....

or youll have people like me and my fiance who play bothDo you think WoW fans Will switch to WAR andif so how ill Wow make a comeback?
As a dedicated wow player, i think that many WoW players will try WAR or AoC just to see the so called ';WoW killers'; but in the end switch back to WoW because of the number of players and the end game content. however some may never switch back because they like the art style/gameplay of WAR or AoC better.
I think Blizzard may lose some players to other MMORPG's as time passes. It really depends on what comes out and what Blizzard releases in new patches and content. We know they will release atleast one more expansion. I doubt Blizzard will stop supporting WoW for a long time.

I play WoW and really have no interest in Warhammer. There are others games like WoW that do interest me, but I doubt I would fully stop playing WoW (a game I've dedicated countless hours too already.)
maybe a few. well in WOW a few could mean 400,000 or more. most people that already play WOW have level 80's and are just working on a second profile. But with the new expansion pack released, people will still be playing for a while. the numbers will slowly decrease no doubt, but it there will still be tonnes of millions of peoplecontinuouslyy playing. If blizzard doesn't release a whole new game the decrease in people might be even great. after all, they're using 2003Technology. they need to release a new, better graphic game, that can improve itself so they don't need to make a new game. that would keep people playing,

Will I become mentally ill if my current situation stays on?

Due to work pressure, I start losing sleep a month ago. At once, I didn't even eat well. My project is due in four months and I am already nervous about the deliverables. My mind is thinking about works when I am on the bed, walking, and eating. I am no longer focus while I am at work or others are talking. I don't laugh like I used to. Someone out there who has similar experience, tell me if this could become a serious illness? Will I become mentally ill if my current situation stays on?
If you allowed this to continue, then yes, it could become serious and you could get quite ill. Good thing you're recognising that fact and can prevent this from happening now. It's time to do something about it and you have to find ways to calm yourself down.

You can use herbal remedies such as bachs and camomile tea regularly. Bachs can be bought from the pharmacy and whenever you feel stressed, just put a few drops under your tongue. Try not to use prescription drugs. The odd tranquiliser won't harm anyone, but don't rely on any prescribed drugs as you can become dependent on them.

You should also treat yourself to alternative therapies such as reflexology, reiki and/or massage to get rid of some of the stress.

Exercise is good, especially yoga. Another one I found great for stress was boxercise .. strenuous exercise and punching the hell out of punch bags! :o)

Also make sure you are eating a good healthy diet because sometimes when you're stressed you forget to eat or just can't be bothered. Taking a good multi-vitamin is also a beneficial supplement during times of stress.

You have to switch off and give yourself some 'me' time. Go for a walk in fresh air, go for a nice scenic drive, watch a good comedy or two, meditate or even just give yourself half an hour in the bath with some soothing music and candles.

When you get up each morning, take time to do some breathing. Take big deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you breathe in, imagine you are breathing in calm. As you breathe out, you are breathing out stress. Do this for at least one minute and then tell yourself 'today will be a wonderful day'. Smile.

Every time you find your mind wandering, stop, take deep breaths again, tell yourself that everything is wonderful and calm. Smile.

    Stay cool :o)

http://www.freewebs.com/spiritualhealing鈥?/a>Will I become mentally ill if my current situation stays on?
it is already affecting your health.

believe it or not exercise will help dissolve some of the anxiety, but you may need stronger stuff to help with the anxiety.
I think you already have a mental illness. Sounds to me you may be depressed. I am currently being treated for depression.I became depressed while caring for my autistitic son and my husband also has autistic tendencies so He isn't much help.It is easy to become depressed while you are overwhelmed. It took me a while to admit that something wasn't right .As a result things just continued to get worse I felt worse and my family suffered the effects as well. The sooner you seek help the better you will feel and the quicker you will be able to get your life back on track. I've only been taking Zoloft for a month and I feel a huge difference. It takes alittle while to feel the full effects but if you hang in there it will help tremendously.I think you should talk to your doctor and discuss your symptoms and he will find the right course of action. Good luck and I hope You start to feel better
You better lay down and just concentrate on your breathing for a while.Drink lots of water and have cold bath.It is said that one who keeps a step ahead when other are tired up,will get to the top.Good luck.
Well you are just stressed for the time being due to work pressure but once your project is over you'll be relief from these tension.
i don't know about mentally ill, but you can become ill, definetly. lack of sleep can turn into exaustion and you can collapse. you need sleep. your mind needs rest. try some over the counter sleeping pills, warm bath with aroma therapy salts, or lie in bed in complete darkness with eyes closed and soft music on, or sound of waves. very relaxing. no matter how you do it, you need to sleep. and you might wanna think about getting another job. no job is worth loosing health over.
we have 24 hours a day, and you cannot buy more.

1/3 of your day should be sleeping, particularly getting into REM sleep, when you are dreaming vividly.

if you ever experience heart palpatations, that is called anxiety disorder and usually is quite successfully treated with xanax.

you are not seriously mentally ill and i doubt that you are going to get that way. but if i lived in your skin, i would see a psychiatrist to see what medication could help me.

losing focus can indicate attention deficit disorder. it may also indicate depression, which has numerous signals.

go to a psychiatrist right away. especially do not wait because you have a sleep problem. if it worsens to the point that you are sleep deprived for too long of a time, the first bad thing that happens is that you get paranoid. if you are not THEN treated, you will become violent. who knows where that can lead?

best of luck. i think you will pull through if only you take care of your health, and then, after that, your reputation. see what i mean by that?
You may need to talk to your doctor about depression. Half the population is treated for this and stress. It takes the medication a couple of weeks to work so get going before you miss your deadlines. Best of luck to you!
As someone who has personally experienced burnout I will tell you this: you need to take care of yourself. There are various stages to burnout and it sounds like you are in the first few. It's a slippery slope though and you if you push too hard you'll land in the later stages where your body starts to shut down. I hit this stage. I took me close to a year of lower intensity work to get back to functional.

Try deep breathing. Take breaks. Make sure you get some exercise during the week.

  • Do wrong pronouncing of the sanskrit slokas will cause ill effect.?

yes and no. if you are reciting vedic verses with faith and due respect to the deities (some rituals like poojas need to be performed too i guess) then even it is mispronounced then it will still be ok and otherwise. it is recommended that you recite them under the guidance of an experienced reciter. some mantras are very powerful and can cause adverse effects even if pronounced correctly. my guru was telling a story of a woman who's been chanting mantra OM for days and nights and only to see her kids die. OM is not recommended for women, they should use SHREE instead.

i learnt how to read sanskrit and recite upanishads time to time.

its not really difficult to learn how to read sanskrit. although it is recommended to have a correct pronunciation, i still have doubts about it. for example the word knowledge 'gyani' according to the rules should be pronounced as 'gyani' but in some parts of india pundits pronounce it as 'jyiani' and all of them are convinced that they are pronouncing it correctly.

or for example the visarga. it should be pronounced as 'h', like german 'ch' but accepted pronunciation is that the preceding vowel repeated along with the exhalation.

so if you have faith and confidence may be you can recite vedas yourself but still if you have opportunitity to consult with a pundit/guru thatd be great.

If a person is terminally ill, would you agree to a NO RESUSCITATION policy with Hospital Staff ?

Imagine a 82 year old person is terminally ill, there is a chance of hospitalisation due to a chest infection, the person might go into shock, NOT due to the terminal illness. On hospitalisation you are asked, if staff should resus or not. What would be your decision? If a person is terminally ill, would you agree to a NO RESUSCITATION policy with Hospital Staff ?
I'm a newly qualified doctor and I've just worked a week of night shifts, during which time I had my first attempt at resuscitation. This woman was 82 and had undergone a major operation. She deteriorated throughout the course of the night and went into cardiorespiratory arrest. Resuscitation was attempted, but failed. And you know what, it was horrible. I though it was so undignified, such a horrible way to go. Instead of letting her just slip quietly away, which I've seen so many times, they were jumping up and own on her chest, pumping her full of different drugs, and in the end it didn't work anyway, they left her lying in the midst of rubbish to die. Instead, she could have slipped quietly away with her family by her side.

This patient you talk about is 82 and terminally ill. They don't have much life left, and probably the quality of life right now is poor. You always have to consider the fact that resuscitation isn't actually all that effective - not in old, ill patients with many other health problems. How would you rather this patient died? Slipping away peacefully in their sleep, or the way I've described above?

That's just my personal opinion. It's your decision. But that's how I feel about it.If a person is terminally ill, would you agree to a NO RESUSCITATION policy with Hospital Staff ?
This is a good question and it reveals the reason you must make your wishes known while you are still healthy enough to make them.

It is hard to watch someone you love die but everyone needs to be realistic.

Usually it is the child with the worst relationship with the parent who won't let go and fights everyone else to ';make'; the parent live...sadly they have the worst grief because they were selfish jerks when the person was alive. Sorry to say this but I've seen it over and over.

have medical power of attorneys drawn up %26amp; let the people closest to you know your wishes.

It was hard to not act when my father in law was dying but he had made his wishes known %26amp; a feeding tube would have just extended his agony by hours or a day or two.

I personally would not want to play God. Once you start to allow something like this you are in grave danger of opening flood gates to assisted killings euthanasia, assisted suicides.
    Am I in the will?
It shouldn't be my (or your) decision. It should be something the patient themselves have already decided upon. Otherwise, there is no decision to make - you must resuscitate.

If the patient is incapable of making such a decision, due to dementia, NOT this recent acute illness, then the family as a group should decide, based only on what the patient indicated before dementia set in.

If no such indication of a DNR exists, then you should not take it upon yourself to make that decision. It is not your decision to make.
I am a nurse and having seen how people suffer in that state ...my personal wishes are for a NO Resuscitation order for myself if I am ever in that state. All it does is draw out the person's suffering and rob their estate of money by creating more medical bills. That's my opinion as I have watched many dying people. The decision has to be yours though and if the family member you are speaking for is alert and oriented you should consult them or think about what they may have told you about their wishes when they were still able (if they are not alert and oriented). In any case a terminal illness is terminal...one day you will not be able to revive them and the illness will take them anyway ...it is just more suffering for them to experience.
do not resuscitate, usually someone who is terminally ill is in pain. If you resuscitate, you bring them back to suffer more. I believe that if you really love this person, you will think of what they want and need, not your own wants and needs. I know if I were terminally ill, I would not want to be resuscitated.
Not to resusitate! I had to make the decision when my mother was in hospital during what turned out to be her last illness. It broke my heart to do it but I knew that to insist on resus would have been against her wishes and no favour to her in the long run.
Personally I don't think I even want to live to be 82, you can't drive well, you're in a lot of pain, you have to use a diaper, someone else has to change your diaper... if the person was 22 with no possibility of brain damage I'd do it but at 82 they're close enough as is.
No I really dont think it would be fair on the patient to be resusitated if they are terminally ill as they would continue to suffer. Kinder in the long run to let them go so as not to prolong the suffering. Sorry............
i would agree with the no recuscitation, especially given the persons age and the fact they are terminally ill. sometimes its kinder to let them go. it would only be for selfish reasons to have them brought back only to have them suffer. my grandpa was 74 with a clot on his brain which caused him to have many strokes. my gran decided on a n/r cos he was in so much pain. it wasnt an easy decision for her but if you love someone you would want them to be painfree.
If there is no hope for them to live a happy, healthy life, it is time to let them go.
That decision needs to be made by that person or someone acting on their behalf if they are not able to make that decision. I would ask the person what their wishes are before going into the hospital. Let them know that no resuscitation (DNR) does not mean that if they are choking on food that nothing would be done. If they would choke, they would have the proper things done to try and stop them from choking. I'm not quite sure what you mean by shock. Do you mean that they might have a heart attack or go into cardiac arrest? What disease do they have? There are a lot of factors. Again, I would ask what they wanted and stand by their decision. There are a lot of people that are terminally ill that actually die from something else. For example, I take care of many people with cancer, and what actually kills them is usually a heart attack or something like that. They need to decide if they want to be treated.
Ok so this person has a terminal illness, which is not treatable, but with medical care their life has been made comfortable and their life may have been prolonged through medical intervention.

So now this person has a complication..they have become sick with a treatable illness.

Right I Understand鈥ou want to know if you should instruct the medics to withhold any further treatment鈥︹€檔ow鈥? because this person cannot make any decisions for themselves at this time!

I would say rescusitate..because then you have at least given some value to the life of this 82 year old human being who has battled to stay alive this long.

    Give them a chance.
That decision is, fortunately, left up to each individual (i.e., to each 82-year-old terminally ill person), rather than to hospital staff, or anyone else, for that matter.

Hospital staff have an obligation to resuscitate. That is their job. It's no one else's business.
    Do Not Resuscitate.

Ultimately, the decision should be made by the patient first of all. They need a full explanation of what the situation is and what you are asking before makeing a decision.

If they are unconcious and unable to make the decision. the imediate family needs to make the decision. I'd say Do No Resuscitate.
Depends on the situation. If the person was given less than six months to live, was suffering horribly, and the person didn't want to be revived then yes I would agree to a DNR. If there is no hope for a remission, pain medication is not working, you know at 82 the person has lived a long life. Sometimes even much younger patients want DNR due to pain and no chance for remission. I agree it is a hard choice to make but sometimes the decision does fall on a younger family member. You could talk it over with the doctor or your minister if you are having a hard time with the decision. Good luck
By agreeing to a ';DNR'; you are not condemning them to a death sentence in their current ill-health - full treatment would still go ahead - what you have to ask yourself is, how ill would that person already be if they reached the point of cardiac arrest, would resuscitating them bring them back to good health, how likely is this given current illness and their age - are they likely to continue life but only with further sickness and suffering? and if they were resuscitated - do you think they would have wanted this? That being said, it is common practise for doctors to ask this question now, medical advances mean they can keep anybody 'going', but doctors recognise that this might not necessarily be right - or wanted! Hope this helps! And remember whatever you decide, you are not doing this alone - the ultimate responsibility lies with the medical team.
as bad as this is my friend started university in septembershe now has 6 wks on the ward, then 6 wks back at university, she said that on the notes of the elderly they have do not resuscitate, make sure that u r with that person so u can care for them eg,dinner times , they seem to ignore the elderly, this is only myopion ,with my nan she was terminally ill but had to be addmitted but our family made sure that she had 1 of us their throughout the day, we used to sponge her lips ,she was allowed home but wasn with us long after due to her terminall illness , not sure if i could agree with that though
you need to get the patients view while they are lucid but in a you gotta answer now situation i would look at the quality of life my father was ill he had had a few strokes could not do anything for himself let alone comunicate he had more wrong than right when asked i said yes to the dnr as i could not watch my always active funloving father just lie there turning slowly into a vegitative state but i will say although i said yes it was a hard decision i had to be sure i was doing what i thought was right for him and not what might be easier for me my father did pull through that night but died a few days later
i would not resusciatat because of the age and the illness and because she is incohearnt anyway. what kind of life would she have if saved anyway. i know living with a chronic heart condition i rather go than have someone pounding on my chest because it does not feel good to be sick all the time while alive.
The hospital can only enforce a DNR (Do not recessiatate) if you have signed a paper to that effect. Other than that, they have to do all measures to keep that person from dying.
    No resus
    let her go in peace
It is not our decision to make. It is the patient's decision.

I would say ask him or her and if they can't make this decision then it is a clinical decision.

    To the added comment:

They are not asking us whether you want him/her to die or live the question is- Is he/she likely to survive resuscitation and is it in her/his best interest? how would i know that?

I would say please act in his/her best interest.
If they have a chest infection it may develop into pneumonia this used to be called the old mans friend in medical circles,as long as the patient is not in pain and comfortable from personal preference if it was me I would say let nature take its course with no resuscitation,if this person is real,God Bless and keep them.Just to clarify I meant if the patient was me,as others here have said,The patient or relatives must make their wishes clear so as not to compromise the medical staff
    To not resus.

That is what I would want.
if i could stay alife y not!

if i could make another alife y not!
If they got no quality of life and they terminally ill then yes I agree let them go
if you are asking for advice as you are about to make a massive choice, then please make it yourself xxx

BUT if it were me or my wife to be %26amp; i love her beyond words!!

If she was being eaten alive i would END it FOR her comw what may.

Because i,d not want to live if she,d passed away SO no court on this Earth could imprision me, as i,d go too
    resus them still
That is a decision that must be made by the patient only, if they are able to make the decision. If he/she is unresponsive or mentally compromised at the time of admission, then the closest family member or the one who has his/her medical power of attorney will make that decision. The best thing to do, if the person is of sound mind, is to have them make this decision and the decision of specific instructions to implement when they are determined to be beyond surviving, by making an Advanced Directive or Living Will now. Then the decision is taken out of your hands. An attorney can do this or there are forms at the hospital and Drs. office the person can fill out. They MUST be signed before a notary and witnesses.

If Obama were to become very ill before inauguration, will Joe Biden become president in January ? ?

please don't joke about something like that! Joe is more scary than Barry!

nope - Barry would have to be deadIf Obama were to become very ill before inauguration, will Joe Biden become president in January ? ?
No, not once the elctoral college have voted (which they haven't yet). Being ill does not disqualify you for office, though if Obama was unable to carry out his duties, Biden would take over, remaining VP.If Obama were to become very ill before inauguration, will Joe Biden become president in January ? ?
    yes your Presidency is

    Obama

    Biden

    Pelosi

    Secretary of State(possibly Hillary)
He's not going to become ill and if he were to die mysteriously then yes Biden would be our president.

    Duh.
If Obama is unable to serve Biden becomes president
    Enough with the Ifs already.
If he becomes very ill and then dies? Yes.
I wouldn't be surprised. He is weak.

  • If you harbor ill will toward your child's home country, how will that affect your child?

I'm just curious. I saw a comment a few minutes ago that made me think, if you have harsh feelings, or even iffy feelings, about the country your child was born in, what would that do to the child? How would that feel as a child, or adult adoptee, to hear from your parents, ';well, your homeland is crap';, or something like that?If you harbor ill will toward your child's home country, how will that affect your child?
They should try to focus on the positive things in that country instead of the negative. It is like talking bad about others around your children. People seem to forget that kids absorb everything they hear and if you bad-mouth the country they were born in they may take it that their parents don't care for them.If you harbor ill will toward your child's home country, how will that affect your child?
I would imagine it would be very detrimental to the child's self worth and sense of self.

I am a DJ who does parties for the Asian/American society. They are so proud to be in the USA, and love their country, yet they are also proud of the heritage they have, and they keep it alive in their dances, their costumes, and their foods. If I ever adopt a child from an Asian nation (I'm presently trying to be a foster to adopt family in the USA), I'd definately take the child to these meetings, both to learn more, and so they can see the beautiful culture behind them. Many different nationalities have these types. As an American from European descent, I've never seen our culture follow much of the old country festival, except for Germans having beer festivals. Perhaps we all might benefit from knowing where we came from. Knowing that our parents couldn't stand our home country would hurt very much. If I did the home study on the parents trying to adopt, and saw them flutter on a question like, ';what do you think of country XYZ';, I wouldn't allow the adoption.
I answered a question about that some months back. There was a PAP going through the process of adopting from China and was having some trouble rationalizing her anger toward China's political policies in light of the adoption. She wondered about whether she was able to separate the two.

My response to her was that it is vital that aparents do not badmouth the children's country of birth. It's a pretty simple logic here: China is bad. I am from China, therefore I am bad.

I advised her to search for the good in the country and the culture and focus on that. Aparents shouldn't badmouth a child's country of birth any more than they should badmouth their parents of birth.
I think it would deeply affect your child.

Kind of like when parents aren't getting along, and one of them says something like, ';You remind me of your Father!'; to their child.

That country is the child's history, his natural family is all there. Never talk bad about a child's country of origin.

Thumbs down? Well you all can tell your child(ren) whatever, but my son is going to be proud of his country of origin and proud of where he came from. :-)
I agree with Ted for once.

It would be the same as telling a visiting foreigner their country bites. They will develop disdain for the person pointing it out to build themselves or their case up. I can see alot of hurt adoptee's going back to their motherland in search of their mother. I just feel sorry for what they're going to uncover when this tragic event happens especially in countries like Honduras and Guatemala.
The child will probably feel unloved deep down, as if they are a charity case and not worthy themselves as a person.
I think it depens mostly on the childs age.

Ideally, a child's homeland is with his parents (assuming parents are actually parental, loving, caring, etc.).

A place of birth is just a regional assignment of where you came into the world. Physically born. But the acutal legal ';boarders'; we call ';countries'; are meaningless lines people draw on paper maps. Does this make sense?

Of couse, some countries are better than others. You don't see a lot of people traveling to columbia or haitii because it's quite frankly, dangerous. And some people don't like anyone different, and are very close minded or worse.

So yes, if a child is old enough to understand, then it's OK to have the conversation, as long as the child knows, and the parent teaches, the difference between what consitutes a HOME and what constitutes a Legal Country. These are very different.

Pure trash talking (like your Homeland is CraP) doesn't help anyone understand anything. I would hope parent can have a more intelligent and mentoring converstation than that for God's sake!!!!
I know lots of people who harbor ill will toward their MIL and even their husband. Doesn't generally have anything to do with the child.

I had to listen to my mom carry on and on because she hated the state where I grew up in. When my Dad had a job opportunity to move back, they did. Yes, it bothers me that she always puts down MY hometown and state, but what can you do? To hear her, if the entire state dropped off into the ocean, she would just be so happy. You avoid bringing up the subject after awhile and just accept that people have opinions that they won't budge from, but they are not a reflection on you.

If you adopted a child from a country that you had iffy feelings about, focus on what is GOOD about the country and/or culture.

When your dog or cat ill, by giving water mixed with sugar will heal them?

ahhh no ....If your pet is ill it may be caused by a range of different conditions and you should seek veterinary advice. When your dog or cat ill, by giving water mixed with sugar will heal them?
No sugar..When your dog or cat ill, by giving water mixed with sugar will heal them?
Generally it is not advisable to give them any food or drink until they have been examined by a vet.Water should be clean and fresh if given.
It really depends on what illness your pet has.

But dont just give your cat or dog sugar and milk find out more about whats wrong with them first.
Absolutely not. If your cat or dog is ill please get veterinary advice. You could so easily make things a lot worse with sugar lumps or sugar water. There are many illnesses that could be made worse by that. Please think of your animal's welfare and don't take short cuts or believe 'old wife's tales'. The animals have no choice and rely totally on us for help. Best of luck. Joan. UK
No, give them about a half teasepoon of pure sugar, no water.
take them to a vet. if your pet is throwing up, there may be other problems
Of course. Sugar is well known for his antibiotic powers.
no, take them to a vet if they are unwell
NO DO NOT GIVE THEM SUGER .THEIR BODY DONT PRODUCE INSULIN SO BY GIVING THEM SUGER YOU PUT THEM IN DANGER ASK THE VET ABOUT WHAT IVE JUST TOLD YOU
    I don't think so no....
Whoever told you that is crazy, totally ignore it.

Water is good, if the animal wants it.

The best thing you can do is take it to a vet.

If the animal is acting odd, there is a reason for it and a veterinary specialist should be consulted.

Dogs and humans react differently to medications, so if you're thinking of giving it some over the counter meds...don鈥檛.

Find out what is wring, maybe it's nothing (they can have bad days also), or maybe it's something and needs treatment. If it鈥檚 been ill for more than a couple days鈥ee a vet.
idont suggest sugar essspeshly chocolat it can KILL the dog
    NO SUGAR. PEROID.
NO IT WILL MAKE THEM MORE SICK. JUST LEAVE THEM TO THEIR OWN DEVICES TO GET WELL IF GETS WORSE CONTACT A VET!!!!

Ill be seeing a psycholgist soon for my anxitiy, what will they be doing?

just would like some idea of what test they will be doing and questions they will be asking.Ill be seeing a psycholgist soon for my anxitiy, what will they be doing?
He/She will ask about how you are feeling, and then ask how you get along with your family....any problems with Mom or Dad...

They will try to figure out how and why the anxiety started, and how often you have it....He may ask:

Is it panic attacks or generalized anxiety all the time?

The best thing you can do is to be as honest as possible. They want to help you, not judge, scold or give you any negative feelings about who you are, or how you feel.

If the therapist doesn't help you very much in several sessions, find a new one. Best of luck to you.

After several sessions, you and your therapist will more than likely figure out what started this condition, they also may put you on mild medication temporarily to help you....

My suggestion: Take the medication, it usually helps a lot.Ill be seeing a psycholgist soon for my anxitiy, what will they be doing?
They will try and determine what is causing your anxiety, Mine was from post traumatic stress.

There are so many causes and so many ways to treat it. No two people are exactly the same.

I was placed in hospital were they ran blood test, Xrays etc to rule out physical illness, every thing was fine ( what a relief.)

The doctor will just ask question to find out the best way to help you, They may place you on a medication, they also offer ways to deal with anxiety with relaxation techniques and distraction methods.

Sometimes I did not feel like talking and I had an understanding pyschiatrist, once I felt comfortable I was able to open up.
well, ya see...there isn't a 'test' they do....

actually, if it's a regular doc...then they can take a blood test[but i'm not sure if all offices do this] to see if you have a mental disorder.

anxiety can be very treatable. everyone has some form of it.

but some have a bigger issue....

they'll ask if you have anxiety/panic attacks...if so, they'd ask the symptoms of it. they'll ask you to describe the reason why you think you have anxiety...they'll ask if mentaldisorders run in the family...[doesn't matter if it's anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders] they'll ask how long you've been experiencing this....

just simple ones. they'll try to assess if you have like...a social anxiety disorder or just...generalized anxiety disorder....i don't know if there's any other ones....

if the psych puts you on medicine, make sure it's an antidepressant like zoloft [best effective antidepressant for anxiety and even ocd!] and not xanax. xanax is an anti anxiety medication and those meds are very addictive....it's not wise to start someone off on that unless they have been on meds for awhile and they do not work or need a booster because they know exactly how much to take and udnerstand the concept of only taking it when needed.

my ex has social anxiety...i was actually the only one besides her mother she could fully open up to...[trying to get her back, stupid rumor complications] and she takes zoloft...sometimes takes xanax when she knows she's entering an anxiety phase...she does yoga also. it reeeeally helps her with anxiety. so definitely get a dvd or get into a yoga class.

don't worry. you'll be just fine. some people may need therapy, some one. i have ADHD and bipolar disorder...i only went a month in therapy when i was first diagnosed with BP, that was 11 months ago and i am glad to say i am stable as can be. i did it with medication...and myself!

just try to relax. music, drawing, painting, writing, yoga, LAUGHING[calms your nerves down actually...it's great to laugh when you are bummed or nervous, it's scientifically proven to work!] can all help you out!

    good luck!
Closely examine the http://1-800-therapist.org/ website, and use the locators, in section 1, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and phone book. Personally, I'd opt for a psychologist who believes in only recommending minimal necessary medication, if at all, because they don't issue prescriptions, so are considerably less likely to be involved with the rewards, and inducements offered by sales reps from ';big pharma';: the large drug companies, to psychiatrists (there are links to, or articles on how psychiatry has become corrupted by money from drug companies, and ';how doctors are being manipulated';, in section 1: worth reading!). It's important to not only feel comfortable with your therapist, but also to know about their qualifications, and the type of therapy used (read section 1). Some people are in therapy for many years, and pay a small fortune in fees, so recognise that therapists may have a vested interest in keeping their patients coming back. It pays the rent, and permits them to feel that they are fulfilling a useful function in life. For this reason, I believe that, unless there is a need for a specific type of therapy, such as Dialectical Behavio(u)ral Therapy, for Borderline Personality Disorder, or EMDR therapy, for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it is a good idea to start out with a psychologist who uses Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, which often can accomplish all it is capable of, in 6 months, and to fix that time limit in the first session. In that way, the therapist knows that there is only a limited window of opportuntiy to do what they can, and there is no unconscious motivation to attempt to draw things out. If, at the end of that time, you believe you could benefit from a little more therapy, then you can extend it, but I'd advise the therapist a few weeks before the final session, in case they are considering taking on a new patient, leaving you ';high, and dry'; committed, and without options, except to find someone else. Learn to assess, and rate your therapist, after a while: sometimes it's better to move on, and find someone who you feel can help you more, but not if you've just reached an unpleasant part of the therapy, which part of you would rather avoid. ~~~ There is a saying in the mental health field; ';if the only tool you have in your kit is a hammer, you tend to treat everything as a nail';. So it goes with doctors, and their prescription pads: handy, quick, and convenient, when trying to get rid of someone in 10 mns, so they can see the next patient.

With anxiolytics (anti-anxiety medication, such as Lexapro, or Paxil, which treat both anxiety and depression) you are only addressing the symptoms, and even then, often only temporarily, as your system becomes used to it, and you have to accept the risks of an increased suicide/homicide rate, aberrant behaviour, and side effects, such as possible sexual dysfunction (common). For those reasons, I recommend first trying the alternatives, which not only treat the symptoms, using herbal remedies, but the cause, as well, using EFT, and relaxation techniques. The antidepressants/anxiolytics will still be there, should the alternatives prove insufficient for you.

See anxiety treatments, at ezy build (below) in section 6. Set yourself a specific time period for worrying about anything, (say; a half an hour, or an hour, possibly when you get home in the evening, but not too close to bedtime) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to even entertain the thought of worrying again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. You will have had your ';worry time'; for the day, and can just write down any more thoughts that come to mind, and say to yourself: ';Well, I'll just have to worry about that tomorrow, won't I?';. Use the technique for reprogramming negative thoughts and internal monologue (self talk), on pages 2, and 2L, to help you in this, if you find yourself backsliding into your former bad habits. Some people carry a wide rubber band in their pocket: put it on their wrist; stretch, and release, as a means of reinforcing it, and speeding up the process, re-pocketing it afterwards, but I regard this as being purely optional.

Practice one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Alternatively, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is also a version for use in public places, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris also refer: ';Even though I sometimes suffer from anxiety, I deeply and completely accept myself.'; Neurofeedback treatment for anxiety is increasingly becoming available. Herbal remedies, such as St.John's wort, arctic root, or Valerian are often effective, but the idea is to use them like water wings, or training wheels on a bicycle, giving time for other treatments, such as therapy, and relaxation techniques, to take effect.
she or he will talk to you about what your feelins are and trust me you have to find someone you really like someone who you feel can help and it will release the anxiety i have been through the smae thing to the point i could barely breath because the anxiety was the bad like gasping and i had a very good psychologist who took that all away along with a loving grandmother.
like what r u feeling 2day??just something like that..
Don't be anxious about it. Just go and you';ll find out. They won't bite. :) Relax
When I went to a psychiatrist I did not know I had an anxiety problem, so I told the receptionist when I made the appnt that I would only see the doctor for one visit..

Previously, one day after work, on my way home, I simply shut down more or less and had to get off the expressway and call my husband to come to my rescue...anyway, I didn't know what was happening to me. As a result, I went to a medical doctor, and he referred me to the psych...I don't know if there are specific questions asked to anxiety sufferers...take care....
Normally they might start by getting to know you, and find out abit about your background including any trauma eg, parents seperation, that sort of thing. over time they will give ask what situations you get anxious in, what you feel when you get anxious (symptoms and bodily sensations) and will give you stradegies and ways to cope and deal with them. In my case, i was to make a list of things that make me anxious, then we dealt with them one at a time. You'll be sweet as pie! Good on you for getting help! :)

Will My President, President Obama, invite Kim Jong Ill to come here for a Pancreatic replacement?

He is dying. Will My President, President Obama, invite Kim Jong Ill to come here for a Pancreatic replacement?
Probably and we will pay for it too....

After his statements about American Vets...this idiot has sunk to all time low. I can't believe we have a President that is not Patriotic and doesn't think of his people. I can't believe we spent 250,000 for him to go to a DAMN BROADWAY SHOW and then he complains about American Vets and calls THEM SELFISH? He never served this county and he isn't serving it now. What a JERK!

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.

The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal. ';Look, it's an all volunteer force,'; Obama complained..

';Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute...”

    ';I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country,'; Obama continued. ';I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans.';

HIS AZZ IS SITTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE BECAUSE OF THOSE VETS....What a JERK!Will My President, President Obama, invite Kim Jong Ill to come here for a Pancreatic replacement?
Yes, let's help keep our enemies alive. While we're at it, let's hand Osama bin Laden a gift basket and resurrect Hitler. I mean, Hitler is dead. Maybe he deserves to live again.
If you are trying to make a point, you certainly have if he can hold a Dictator until he gets his country back he will do anything.
Kim Jong III will have a successor and he will be just as mean and evil

as Kim Jong III~~you can bet the bank on this~~no the Kim will have to

take some green tea and hope for a miracle
At the hands of the U.S. health industry? I know Kim is supposed to be back on the axis of evil, but that seems like too cruel a fate, even for him. I'll say, no.
Why should he get anything? I have alots of medical things I need and I can't get them done. First I got kicked out of New York and now all this in LA.
let's bring kim over here for a transplant complements of the American people....let's give him PREZ OBUMMER'S PANCREAS...LET';S VOTE......
If Kim Jong Il can jump the border, he will have access to the best healthcare America has to offer. And it's all FREE!!!
Just wait, all Kim has to do is show up at an American hospital and say that he's an undocumented alien and he'll get the best care our taxes can provide.
Kim ain't that stupid. He knows what socialized medicine is like...

    don't worry, i got my first period when i was 15 1/2.

your size might not necessarily matter. i'm tall but very thin, and my period is just regular.

as for getting it at school, don't worry that much. when you get your period, it usually starts as brown discharge, but just be prepared. as long as you have a pad ready with you just in case you will be fine!
